Croat Petra Martic, the No 8 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Poland Open by winning against Pole wildcard Maja Chwalinska 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 at Arka Tennis Club in Gdynia on Thursday evening.
Martic, ranked No 56, will face Ukrainian lucky loser Kateryna Baindl next.
Ahead of her victory, the Croat defeated Pole wildcard Weronika Falkowska (7-5, 6-4).
Chwalinska, ranked No 162, beat Spanish qualifier Rebeka Masarova (7-5, 6-2) in the previous round.
