Croat Petra Martic, the No 8 seed, moved into the second round of the Poland Open by beating Pole wildcard Weronika Falkowska 7-5, 6-4 at Arka Tennis Club in Gdynia on Wednesday.
Martic, ranked No 56, will face Pole wildcard Maja Chwalinska next.
