Frenchwoman Clara Burel won against Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 7-6 (5), 6-1 to move into the second round of the Poland Open at Arka Tennis Club in Gdynia on Tuesday night.
Burel, ranked No 131, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jasmine Paolini, the No 10 seed, and Montenegrin Danka Kovinic next.
