Paula Badosa and Ana Konjuh to clash for the Serbia Open title
The final will mark the second career meeting between the two players
Fourth seed Paula Badosa will take on unseeded Ana Konjuh in the final of the WTA Serbia Ladies Open 2021 after both players scored contrasting straight-sets wins on Saturday.
Konjuh, a former world No 20, who is now ranked No 188 in the world, needed two tie-breaks to overcome Maria Camila Osorio Serrano 7-6, 7-6 in the first semi-final of the day.
The Croatian needed two hours and eight minutes to overcome the Colombian teenager, who was playing in her third semi-final on the tour in 2021 and will make her top 100 debut on Monday.
Badosa also scored a straight-sets win in the second semi-final, but had a much more comfortable time against Viktoriya Tomova 6-1, 6-2 in just 63 minutes.
After reaching the semi-finals in Lyon, Charleston and Madrid, Badosa is through to her first final on the tour in 2021.
The final, to be played later today, will mark the second career meeting between Badosa and Konjuh. The Spaniard won their only encounter six years ago in Madrid in straight sets.
