Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz lifted the Canberra Open trophy by defeating Harriet Dart 6-4, 6-3 at the Canberra Tennis Center on Saturday night.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 123, beat Swiss qualifier Celine Naef (6-3, 6-1), Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 5 seed (6-4, 0-6, 6-3), Frenchwoman Oceane Dodin, the No 3 seed (6-2, 3-1 ret.) and Dane Clara Tauson (6-4, 7-6 (4)) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds of the Canberra tournament, Dart, ranked No 120, beat German Anna-Lena Friedsam (3-6, 6-4, 6-3), Chinese Yafan Wang, the No 6 seed (6-3, 1-6, 6-1), Japanese Nao Hibino, the second seed (6-3, 6-0) and American Katie Volynets (7-5, 3-6, 7-5).
