Italian wildcard Matilde Paoletti advanced to the second round of the Parma Open by winning against Romanian lucky loser Gabriela Lee 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 at the Tennis Club Parma on Tuesday.
Paoletti, ranked No 366, will play Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu, the No 3 seed, next.
