Lauren Davis hits a forehand
American Lauren Davis reached the last eight of the Parma Open by edging out Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 at the Tennis Club Parma on Wednesday.
Davis, ranked No 99, will face Egyptian Mayar Sherif next.
In the previous round of the Parma Ladies Open, the American won against Italian wildcard Sara Errani (7-5, 7-5).
Sorribes Tormo, ranked No 67, defeated Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed (7-5, 6-0) during the first round of the Parma Ladies Open.
