American Lauren Davis beat Italian wildcard Sara Errani 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the second round of the Parma Open at the Tennis Club Parma on Monday evening.
Davis, ranked No 99, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo and Italian Martina Trevisan, the second seed, next.
