Zeynep Sonmez advanced to the last 16 of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren by defeating Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the second seed, 6-0, 6-4 on Monday afternoon.
Sonmez, ranked No 163, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian qualifier Anastasiya Soboleva and Canadian Marina Stakusic next.
