Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 8 seed, beat Russian Kamilla Rakhimova 6-3, 7-5 to reach the last four of the Parma Ladies Open on Thursday evening.
Sherif, ranked No 80, will play Mexican Renata Zarazua next.
Ahead of her victory, the Egyptian won against Italian qualifier Martina Colmegna (6-2, 7-5) and Swiss qualifier Susan Bandecchi (6-3, 7-5).
Rakhimova, ranked No 98, defeated Italian Martina Trevisan (6-2, 6-4) and Australian Daria Saville (6-4, 7-5) in the previous rounds.
