Parma Ladies Open: Schmiedlova books spot in semi-finals
The Slovak will face the winner of the match between German Jule Niemeier and Zeynep Sonmez in the next round

Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 4 seed, won against qualifier Jesika Maleckova 6-0, 7-5 to move into the last four of the Parma Ladies Open on Thursday.
Schmiedlova, ranked No 67, will play the winner of the match between German Jule Niemeier and Zeynep Sonmez next.
The Slovak had reached the fourth round of Roland-Garros in 2023.
Earlier in the tournament, the Slovak beat Hungarian Dalma Galfi (6-3, 7-6 (5)) and Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone (6-3, 6-0).
Jesika Maleckova defeated Chinese Yafan Wang, the No 5 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) and Colombian Emiliana Arango (7-5 ret.) in the previous rounds.
