Qualifier Jesika Maleckova moved into the quarter-finals of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren when Colombian Emiliana Arango retired on Wednesday.
Jesika Maleckova led 7-5 when Arango, ranked No 118, pulled out on Wednesday afternoon.
Jesika Maleckova will play the winner of the match between Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone and Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 4 seed, next.
Jesika Maleckova beat Chinese Yafan Wang, the No 5 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
In the previous round, the Colombian won against Italian Lucrezia Stefanini (6-4, 6-3).
