Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa beat Spaniard Aliona Bolsova, the No 8 seed, 6-4, 6-4 to move into the last eight of the Parma Ladies Open on Wednesday.
Kawa, ranked No 246, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Dalma Galfi and Spaniard Jessica Bouzas Maneiro next.
Ahead of her victory, the Pole won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja (6-1, 6-3).
Bolsova, ranked No 115, won against Italian qualifier Dalila Spiteri (6-1, 7-6 (1)) in the previous round.
