Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 5 seed, reached the last 16 of the Parma Ladies Open by beating Italian Sara Errani 6-2, 6-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
Cristian, ranked No 107, will face Dutch qualifier Eva Vedder next.
