Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 7 seed, defeated Croat qualifier Antonia Ruzic 6-1, 6-4 to move into the last 8 of the Parma Ladies Open on Wednesday.
Bondar, ranked No 105, will play the winner of the match between Russian Erika Andreeva and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 4 seed, next.
The Hungarian won against German wildcard Silvia Ambrosio (6-2, 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Ruzic, ranked No 320, won against Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone (6-3, 7-6 (2)).
