Romanian Ana Bogdan, the second seed, defeated Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera 6-1, 7-5 to move into the last 16 of the Parma Ladies Open on Tuesday.
Bogdan, ranked No 71, will face the winner of the match between Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska and Australian Astra Sharma next.
