No 5 seed Caroline Garcia reached the second round of the Palermo Open by beating Chloe Paquet 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-2 at A.S.D. Country Time Club in Palerme on Tuesday evening.
Garcia, ranked No 48, will face the winner of the match between wildcard Sara Errani and wildcard Elisabetta Cocciaretto next.
