Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu advanced to the second round of the Palermo Open by winning against Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera 6-0, 6-0 at A.S.D. Country Time Club on Monday.
Begu, ranked No 142, will face the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 5 seed, and Italian Martina Trevisan next.
