Japan Open: Dutch qualifier Lamens moves into quarter-finals
Lamens will play the winner of the match between Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan and No 4 seed Marie Bouzkova in the last eight
Dutch qualifier Suzan Lamens advanced to the quarter-finals of the Osaka Open by beating Italian Lucia Bronzetti 6-3, 6-4 at the Utsubo Tennis Center on Wednesday.
Lamens, ranked No 125, will face the winner of the match between Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan and No 4 seed Marie Bouzkova next.
The Dutchwoman won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-2) ahead of her win today.
In the previous round of the tournament, Bronzetti, ranked No 78, won against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa (6-3, 6-4).
