Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle won against Swiss Jil Teichmann, the second seed, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the last four of the Open Internacional Femení Solgironès on Friday afternoon.
Carle, ranked No 151, will face the winner of the match between Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the No 7 seed, and American Caroline Dolehide, the No 4 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Argentinian defeated Spanish qualifier Lucia Cortez Llorca (6-2, 6-0) and German Tamara Korpatsch, the No 8 seed (7-6 (5), 6-4).
Teichmann, ranked No 77, won against Mexican Renata Zarazua (6-3, 6-1) and Russian Erika Andreeva (6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
