Dominika Salkova defeated American Varvara Lepchenko 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 to advance to the last four of the Open In Arte Angers Loire on Friday.
Salkova, ranked No 166, will play Swiss wildcard Belinda Bencic next.
Salkova won against Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus (6-2, 6-3) and French qualifier Carole Monnet (6-2, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds, Lepchenko, ranked No 138, beat Dutchwoman Anouk Koevermans (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, the No 8 seed (7-6 (6), 7-6 (5)).
