American Alycia Parks, the No 3 seed, won the Open In Arte Angers Loire final by defeating Swiss wildcard Belinda Bencic 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-0 on Sunday.

Playing her first final as a mother, Bencic started the proceedings strongly, breaking Parks in the opening game, but the American recovered in time to force a tiebreak and eventually win the set.

The Swiss fought back in the second set and drew level but Parks eventually proved too good as she dished out a bagel in the decider.

Parks, ranked No 103, beat French wildcard Julie Belgraver (6-2, 6-4), German Tamara Korpatsch (7-6 (3), 6-2), Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (7-6 (4), 6-3) and German Mona Barthel (6-2, 1-6, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
