Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 6 seed, reached the last 16 of the Open delle Puglie by winning against Kazakh qualifier Zhibek Kulambayeva 6-3, 6-2 on Tuesday.
Zarazua, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska and Italian qualifier Martina Colmegna next.
