Hungarian Panna Udvardy reached the final of the Open delle Puglie by edging out Slovenian Tamara Zidansek, the No 9 seed, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 on Saturday evening.
Udvardy, ranked No 132, will face Romanian Anca Todoni next.
The Hungarian won against Italian wildcard Giorgia Pedone (2-6, 7-5, 7-5), Ukrainian qualifier Anastasiya Soboleva (6-0, 6-1) and Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 6 seed (7-6 (6), 7-6 (5)) in the previous rounds.
Earlier in the tournament, Zidansek, ranked No 131, defeated Italian wildcard Daria Raimondo (6-0, 6-0), Ipek Oz (7-5, 7-6 (2)) and Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 5 seed (4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4)).
