Austrian Julia Grabher advanced to the quarter-finals of the Open delle Puglie by winning against Su Jeong Jang 7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.
Grabher, ranked No 120, will face the winner of the match between Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the top seed, and Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova next.
In the previous round, the Austrian beat Italian wildcard Lucrezia Stefanini (6-3, 6-2).
Jang, ranked No 135, won against Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 8 seed (6-4, 6-3) in the previous round.
