Open delle Puglie: Grabher lifts the trophy
Julia Grabher won the final on Sunday evening against Nuria Brancaccio
Austrian Julia Grabher won the Open delle Puglie tournament by defeating Italian qualifier Nuria Brancaccio 6-4, 6-2 on Sunday evening.
Grabher, ranked No 120, beat Italian wildcard Lucrezia Stefanini (6-3, 6-2), Su Jeong Jang (7-5, 6-7 (3), 6-1), Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the top seed (4-6, 6-4, 6-1) and Hungarian Reka Luca Jani (6-4, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Brancaccio, ranked No 433, beat Swiss Ylena In-Albon (2-6, 6-1, 6-4), Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed (7-5, 6-3), German Tatjana Maria, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-1) and wildcard Matilde Paoletti (3-6, 6-2, 6-4).
