Qualifier Nuria Brancaccio advanced to the final of the Open delle Puglie by edging out wildcard Matilde Paoletti 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday evening.
Brancaccio, ranked No 433, will face Austrian Julia Grabher next.
Ahead of her victory, Nuria Brancaccio defeated Swiss Ylena In-Albon (2-6, 6-1, 6-4), Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed (7-5, 6-3) and German Tatjana Maria, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-1).
Matilde Paoletti won against Frenchwoman Harmony Tan, the No 7 seed (6-2, 6-0), Argentinian qualifier Paula Ormaechea (6-4, 6-4) and Dutch qualifier Eva Vedder (4-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the previous rounds.
