Spaniard Nuria Parrizas Diaz, the No 6 seed, defeated Austrian wildcard Lilli Tagger 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the last eight of the Open BLS de Limoges on Wednesday evening.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked No 100, will play the winner of the match between American Varvara Lepchenko and Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 4 seed, next.
The 33-year-old Spaniard edged out Swiss Jil Teichmann (6-4, 3-6, 7-5) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Lilli Tagger won against Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (3-6, 6-3, 6-2).
