Open BLS de Limoges: Bucsa upsets Blinkova to reach final
The Spaniard will face the winner of the match between Russian Erika Andreeva, the No 7 seed, and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot for the title
Spain’s Cristina Bucsa, the No 5 seed, advanced to the final of the Open BLS de Limoges by winning against Russian Anna Blinkova, the second seed, 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday.
Bucsa, ranked No 82, will face the winner of the match between Russian Erika Andreeva, the No 7 seed, and Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot in the final.
The Spaniard defeated French lucky loser Nahia Berecoechea (6-3, 6-1), French wildcard Audrey Albie (6-3, 6-4) and French wildcard Lois Boisson (7-6 (3), 6-2) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Blinkova, ranked No 50, beat Ukrainian qualifier Veronika Podrez (6-3, 6-1), Uzbek Nigina Abduraimova (6-4, 6-0) and Frenchwoman Harmony Tan (6-3, 5-7, 7-6 (3)).
