Qualifier Heather Watson won against German Tatjana Maria 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the last eight of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Wednesday.
Watson, ranked No 195, will play Swiss Viktorija Golubic next.
In the previous round of the Nottingham tournament, Heather Watson beat German Jule Niemeier (6-4, 6-3).
Maria, ranked No 66, won against Chinese Shuai Zhang, the No 6 seed (6-1, 6-4) during the 32 of the Nottingham tournament.
