Nottingham Open: Pliskova too good for Watson, reaches quarter-finals
Karolina Pliskova defeated Heather Watson 6-4, 6-4 and will face the winner of the match between Ons Jabeur and Linda Fruhvirtova in the next round

No 6 seed Karolina Pliskova reached the last eight of the Nottingham Open by beating wildcard Heather Watson 6-4, 6-4 at Nottingham Tennis Centre.
Pliskova, ranked No 50, will face the winner of the match between Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the top seed, and qualifier Linda Fruhvirtova next.
Ahead of her victory, Karolina Pliskova defeated American Alycia Parks (6-4, 6-4).
Watson, ranked No 158, edged out American Kayla Day (4-6, 6-0, 6-4) in the previous round of the Nottingham tournament.
