Nottingham Open: Jones reaches quarter-finals

Wildcard Francesca Jones moved into the quarter-finals of the Nottingham Open by edging out American Ashlyn Krueger 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Friday afternoon.

Jones, ranked No 249, will play wildcard Emma Raducanu next.

Francesca Jones won against American Caroline Dolehide, the No 8 seed (7-6 (3), 6-3) in the previous round of the Nottingham tournament.

In the previous round of the Nottingham tournament, Krueger, ranked No 70, beat Chinese Yafan Wang (6-3, 6-3).
