Italian Camila Giorgi, the No 7 seed, won against American Madison Brengle 7-6 (5), 6-2 to advance to the last 16 of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Tuesday.
Giorgi, ranked No 47, will play American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik next.
