Nottingham Open: Frech recovers to beat Maria and reach last eight

Pole Magdalena Frech, the No 5 seed, defeated German Tatjana Maria 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre.
Frech, ranked No 52, will play No 3 seed Katie Boulter next.
The Pole won against Japanese Nao Hibino (6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Nottingham tournament.
In the previous round of the Nottingham tournament, Maria, ranked No 56, edged out Colombian Emiliana Arango (4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6)).
