Nottingham Open: Cornet through to semi-finals

Frenchwoman Alize Cornet moved into the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open by winning against American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Friday.
Cornet, ranked No 72, will face Jodie Burrage next.
Earlier in the tournament, the 33-year-old Frenchman edged out wildcard Katie Swan (2-6, 6-1, 6-4) and defeated Greek Maria Sakkari, the top seed (6-1, 6-4).
Mandlik, ranked No 110, edged out Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova (6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (5)) and beat Italian Camila Giorgi, the No 7 seed (7-5, 5-7, 6-3) in the previous rounds of the Nottingham tournament.
