Jodie Burrage edged out Pole Magdalena Frech 6-2, 3-6, 7-5 to reach the semi-finals of the Nottingham Open at Nottingham Tennis Centre on Friday.

Burrage, ranked No 131, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Alize Cornet and American qualifier Elizabeth Mandlik next.
Jodie Burrage edged out Czech Tereza Martincova (7-6 (5), 3-6, 7-6 (4)) and defeated Pole Magda Linette, the No 3 seed (7-5, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
Earlier in the tournament, Frech, ranked No 77, won against Sonay Kartal (6-3, 5-7, 6-2) and Chinese Lin Zhu, the No 8 seed (6-2, 6-4).
