Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 7 seed, reached the last eight of the Nordea Open by winning against Romanian Miriam Bulgaru 6-4, 6-4 on Wednesday.
Trevisan, ranked No 89, will play Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the top seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Italian beat Australian Astra Sharma (5-7, 7-5, 6-3).
Bulgaru, ranked No 218, won against Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round.
