Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the top seed, won against Latvian Darja Semenistaja 6-4, 6-1 to advance to the last eight of the Nordea Open on Wednesday.
Parry, ranked No 53, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Miriam Bulgaru and Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 7 seed, next.
The 21-year-old Frenchman edged out Swede wildcard Caijsa Hennemann (1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round, Semenistaja, ranked No 108, beat Swede wildcard Mirjam Bjorklund (6-4, 6-2).
