Nordea Open: Navarro advances to final
Emma Navarro won against Louisa Chirico 6-4, 6-4 on Friday and will play the winner of the match between Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 8 seed, and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the second seed, in the final
Top seed Emma Navarro defeated Louisa Chirico 6-4, 6-4 to move into the final of the Nordea Open at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Friday.
Navarro, ranked No 55, will face the winner of the match between Serb Olga Danilovic, the No 8 seed, and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva, the second seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, Emma Navarro won against Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-3, 6-2), Swede Mirjam Bjorklund (7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-1) and Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-0, 6-4).
Chirico, ranked No 251, won against Norwegian Malene Helgo (6-1, 6-4), Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 4 seed (7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-1) and No 7 seed Claire Liu (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Swedish Open.
