Nordea Open: Masarova makes final
Rebeka Masarova beat Lauren Davis 7-6 (3), 7-5 on Friday afternoon and will play Su Jeong Jang for the title
Spaniard Rebeka Masarova won against American Lauren Davis, the No 6 seed, 7-6 (3), 7-5 to move into the final of the Nordea Open at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Friday.
Masarova, ranked No 146, will play Su Jeong Jang next.
Ahead of her victory, the 22-year-old Spaniard beat American Grace Min (6-1, 0-6, 6-2), Swede Mirjam Bjorklund (6-2, 6-3) and Slovak Anna-Karolina Schmiedlova, the second seed (3-6, 6-1, 7-5).
Davis, ranked No 102, defeated Swede wildcard Kajsa Rinaldo Persson (6-2, 6-1), Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska (6-4, 6-1) and Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 4 seed (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
