Nordea Open: Jang into semi-finals
Su Jeong Jang won against Panna Udvardy 6-4, 7-5 on Thursday. She’ll play the winner of the match between Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova in the next round
Su Jeong Jang advanced to the semi-finals of the Nordea Open by beating Hungarian Panna Udvardy, the No 5 seed, 6-4, 7-5 at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Thursday.
Jang, ranked No 155, will play the winner of the match between Romanian Mihaela Buzarnescu and Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova next.
Su Jeong Jang won against Frenchwoman Clara Burel, the No 3 seed (6-2, 6-1) and Russian Irina Khromacheva (6-0, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
In the previous rounds of the Swedish Open, Udvardy, ranked No 100, won against Greek Valentini Grammatikopoulou (6-2, 7-5) and Swede wildcard Caijsa Hennemann (6-4, 6-2).
