Nordea Open: Davis makes last 8
Lauren Davis won against Katarina Zavatska 6-4, 6-1 on Wednesday and will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean and Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 4 seed, in the next round
American Lauren Davis, the No 6 seed, moved into the quarter-finals of the Nordea Open by winning against Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska 6-4, 6-1 at Båstad Tennisstadion in Bastad on Wednesday.
Davis, ranked No 102, will play the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean and Swede Rebecca Peterson, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the American defeated Swede wildcard Kajsa Rinaldo Persson (6-2, 6-1).
Zavatska, ranked No 227, won against American Francesca Di Lorenzo (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Swedish Open.
