American Louisa Chirico beat Ukrainian Katarina Zavatska 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the last four of the Nordea Open on Thursday.
Chirico, ranked No 216, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Diane Parry, the top seed, and Italian Martina Trevisan, the No 7 seed, next.
Ahead of her win today, the American won against Mexican Renata Zarazua, the No 8 seed (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Thai Mananchaya Sawangkaew (6-2, 6-3).
Zavatska, ranked No 197, defeated Yulia Starodubtseva (7-5, 6-1) and Slovak Anna Karolina Schmiedlova, the No 4 seed (5-7, 6-2, 6-3) in the previous rounds.
