Ningbo Open: Shnaider books spot in semi-finals
Diana Shnaider beat Petra Kvitova 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 on Thursday afternoon and will face Linda Fruhvirtova in the next round

Russian Diana Shnaider defeated second seed Petra Kvitova 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 to move into the semi-finals of the Ningbo Open on Thursday.
Shnaider, ranked No 85, will play Linda Fruhvirtova next.
In the previous rounds, the 19-year-old Russian won against Chinese qualifier Zhuoxuan Bai (6-4, 1-6, 6-2) and Kamilla Rakhimova (6-3, 6-2).
Kvitova, ranked No 14, won against German qualifier Anna-Lena Friedsam (7-6 (2), 6-1) and Kazakh Yulia Putintseva (W/O) earlier in the tournament.
