Ningbo Open: Kasatkina moves into semi-finals

Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed, edged out Kazakh Yulia Putintseva 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (6) to move into the semi-finals of the Ningbo Open at the Yinzhou Tennis Center on Friday.
Kasatkina, ranked No 11, will play the winner of the match between Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 6 seed, and Spaniard Paula Badosa, the No 8 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the Russian won against Katerina Siniakova (1-6, 6-3, 6-2).
Putintseva, ranked No 32, defeated American Caroline Dolehide (6-2, 6-0) and German lucky loser Ella Seidel (6-4, 6-4) in the previous rounds of the Ningbo tournament.
