Chinese Shuai Zhang moved into the second round of the National Bank Open by beating Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 6-1, 6-3 at the Aviva Centre in Toronto on Tuesday evening.
Zhang, ranked No 45, will face Romanian Simona Halep, the No 15 seed, next.
