Mumbai Open: Pigossi advances to second round

Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 5 seed, moved into the second round of the Mumbai Open when Russian Ekaterina Makarova retired at the Cricket Club of India on Monday night.
Pigossi, ranked No 128, led 6-1, 3-0 when Makarova, ranked No 164, pulled out on Monday night at the Cricket Club of India.
The Brazilian will face the winner of the match between Hungarian qualifier Fanny Stollar and Australian Storm Hunter next.
