Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, the No 5 seed, moved into the round of 16 of the Eastbourne International by beating Pole Magdalena Frech 6-1, 7-6 (7) at Devonshire Park Lawn Club on Monday evening.
Muguruza, ranked No 10, will face the winner of the match between Canadian lucky loser Rebecca Marino and Italian Camila Giorgi, the No 12 seed, next.
In the previous round, Frech, ranked No 92, won against Chinese Qinwen Zheng (6-3, 6-0).
