Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open: Rybakina comes through tough Collins test to reach last eight

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the top seed, defeated American qualifier Danielle Collins 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to reach the last eight of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City.

Rybakina, ranked No 5, will face the winner of the match between Spanish lucky loser Cristina Bucsa and qualifier Heather Watson next.

In the previous round of the Abu Dhabi tournament, Collins, ranked No 71, won against Japanese wildcard Naomi Osaka (7-5, 6-0).
