Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open: Krueger reaches semi-finals
Ashlyn Krueger beat Leylah Fernandez 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 on Thursday afternoon and will face the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette and Linda Noskova in the next round

American Ashlyn Krueger advanced to the semi-finals of the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open by winning against Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 8 seed, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2 at the International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City on Thursday.
Krueger, ranked No 51, will face the winner of the match between Pole Magda Linette and Linda Noskova next.
Ahead of her victory, the 20-year-old American beat qualifier McCartney Kessler (6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-3) and edged out Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 3 seed (1-6, 7-5, 6-4).
Fernandez, ranked No 27, won against Japanese lucky loser Moyuka Uchijima (7-6 (3), 7-6) and New Zealander Lulu Sun (6-0, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
